Chelsea have started the season in a good shape under the tutelage of Frank Lampard. The Blues legend has been able to assemble a youthful team that has shown potentials of developing into a side that can challenge for titles.
Tammy Abraham has displayed a maturity that belies his age as he takes advantage of the trust and faith that Lampard has placed in him. The lanky forward has scored seven goals so far this season nd has largely relegated Olivier Giroud and MichyBatshuayi to the bench.
Mason Mount is another player that has been a revelation this season, The midfielder knows all about Frank Lampard having played for him last season at Derby County. Mount’s work-rate and eye for goal has made him a permanent feature in the first 11.
His combination play with Tammy Abraham has been delightful to watch as he continues to grow in stature playing for the Blues. FikayoTomori is another of the Derby County loanees who have taking opportunity of Frank Lampard’s appointment.
Strong and physical, Tomori is the embodiment of a modern defender. He has the potentials to be a great defender for the Blues if he continues at this rate. Chelsea has always been a good home for quality defenders and Tomori could be the next in the stables of great defenders.
One player that has not enjoyed his time at the club so far is USA forward Christian Pulisci. Billed as the replacement for Eden Hazard, the 20-year-old has been largely kept on the bench this season.
There appears to be some skepticism from Lampard regarding the player which has puzzled several Chelsea fans. If it were to be any other coach, he could have received criticisms for dropping the highly-rated winger. However, Lampard is seen as a darling for the club and it is up to him to determine where Pulisic fits in his tactics.
