Bayern Munich interested in Christian Pulisic

Times journalist Duncan Castles has revealed that Bayern Munich are leading the race to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund. The United States international has been regularly linked with a move away from Dortmund and the speculation has only intensified after his standing out for the club during their recent United States tour.

In a report covered by the Times, Castles confirmed that there is plenty of interest from the English top-flight but Bayern appear the most likely destination for the Dortmund forward, he said: “He is a player of interest to all the top clubs in England. He has massive additional commercial appeal.Liverpool have bid for the player several years ago. They won’t bid this summer. Chelsea have had a look at him if Hazard or Willian were to leave. The most likely destination for him is Bayern Munich. I heard Vidal was sold to raise funds to sign Pulisic. They have been working on a deal for some time.”

Klinsmann recognized for positive results

The manager of the United States national football team, Jurgen Klinsmann has been recognized for his recent series of positive results with the American squad as he managed to somehow advance through the group stages of the 2014 World Cup in a group that was considered to be one of the toughest out of the entire tournament.

Klinsmann also guided the American national team to Gold Cup victory in 2013 and now the German coach was named in the shortlist of managers who are eligible of winning the FIFA Coach of the Year award which will be officially named on January 15.

The full list of managers includes: Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Joachim Low, Jose Mourinho, Manuel Pellegrini, Alejandro Sabella, Diego Simeone, Louis van Gaal and Jurgen Klinsmann.

All those managers that were mentioned in the shortlist of FIFA have managed to reach an impressive feat in the past season.

Carlo Ancelotti was able to secure the Champions League in his first season in charge of Real Madrid. Antonio Conte is doing a superb job in his new managerial role as the coach of Italy and Conte also managed to guide Juventus to their 3rd consecutive Italian League, Serie A title.

Pep Guardiola continues pushing Bayern Munich to new heights and more records being broken as each season passes on. Joachim Low was one of the master minds behind the success of Germany who were claimed as the champions of the world and ran past everyone in their 2014 World Cup campaign.

Each manager has their own kind of record or feat that they have accomplished recently and are now being recognized by FIFA. This is a huge accomplishment for Jurgen Klinsmann as he is now being compared to some of the most worldwide recognized managers in the world and has a genuine chance of lifting what is considered to be the most coveted individual trophy for managers.

Klinsmann Happy To Stay With America

Belgium knocked out United States in the round of 16 of the 2014 World Cup in a match that was decided in extra time as neither teams managed to score a single goal during the opening 90 minutes of the match but when added time was given, goals started to flourish with Belgium winning with a narrow scoreboard of 2-1.

When the 2014 World Cup reached its end, the manager of the United States national football team Jurgen Klinsmann claimed that he had received a number of offers from European clubs but the German tactician replied by saying that he is looking forward for everything that is waiting for him as the head coach of the American outfit.

Klinsmann said: a?aThere have been several enquiries from European clubs but I told them straight away that they donat have to follow up on them. Thatas not an issue for me. I am under contract here until 2018, and I am looking forward to the upcoming tasksaa

Compared to other sports in the United States, Soccer does not play a huge role and the team of Jurgen Klinsmann was never expected to win the 2014 World Cup or any of the previous editions of the worldwide tournament but they still managed to make an impressive campaign as the team just barely slipped away from entering the quarterfinals, the last time they have managed on reaching so far was back in 2002 when Japan hosted the World Cup.

The 50 year old German coach is well aware of all the work that he has to do as there are things that still need to be done including their task of defending their title at the 2015 Gold Cup as well as making another impressive campaign in the 2018 World Cup.

NIGERIA UP NEXT

The US national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann will be preparing his team to face Nigeria in a friendly match just before the World Cup 2014. This match could be a great preparatory tool for the Americans since it occurs just a few weeks before the World Cup, while Nigeria are also one of the teams to have qualified for this tournament. Nigeria do not have a tough draw on their hands since they will be up against teams like Iran and Bosnia in the group stages. The same cannot be said of the Americans, who will be up against Germany, Portugal, and Ghana.

This is widely perceived as the group of death since all teams have the capability to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament. Klinsmann has already achieved a lot of success with the US national team at previous major tournaments. The US were especially good at the recent Confederation Cup. However, they do not come into the World Cup in the best of form, as they have managed just two victories out of the last five matches. Still, friendlies against Mexico, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Nigeria provide the US with enough opportunities to recover their form.

Klinsmann also recently suggested that he has not close to the door on any player looking to get into the national team at the last moment.

a?We are absolutely thrilled with the schedule we have put together for the Send-Off Series. We have some fantastic opponents that will help us get prepared for the teams we will meet in the World Cup,a? said Klinsmann. The nation will be opening their World Cup with a match against Ghana, which will be again of great importance given that the remaining two are against slightly tougher opposition in the form of Portugal and Germany.

JOHANSSON WANTS CHANCE

The US national team striker Aron Johannsson says that he hopes to sign for the team in 2014. He is competing for a starting spot along with Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore.A Altidore has been leading the line for the US national team under Jurgen Klinsmann for more than a year, but his poor form since moving to Sunderland should be a cause of concern. Klinsmann, though, need not worry since he has Johannsson on a good run of form. The AZ Alkmaar striker has bagged 22 goals in just 35 matches for his club. Even though AZ are only mid-table right now, Johannsson has reasons to believe that he will start ahead of Altidore.

Altidore has for long been seen as the main striker in the national team, but there are fears that he may not have been as good as people thought after his move to Sunderland. The 24-year-old has managed just two goals in 31 appearances for the Premier league outfit. Prior to the move, he managed 38 goals in 67 matches for the Dutch club. Johannsson only has six appearances at national level, but he is hoping to add to it before the World Cup starts. The US are in a tough group containing the likes of Germany, Portugal, and Ghana.

“I try to focus on my game every day at training and at every game for my team AZ and that’s all I can do. I try my hardest to make the decision as hard as I can for JA?rgen. Obviously it would be a great honor to be on the airplane to Brazil and to get any minutes at the biggest stage in the world would be amazing. If everything goes the right way 2014 can be the most important year of my career so far,” said Johannsson.

JURGEN NOT WORRIED

US national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has stated that he is worried at the prospect of his players not getting top-level experience by staying in the MLS. The MLS is nowhere near enough in comparison with the European leagues in terms of the quality. In the past, American players managed to secure a loan or permanent moves to European clubs, which helped them compete against the best in the world. It is simply not happening in recent years according to Klinsmann, who fears that this may have recuperations for the national team.

Klinsmann has so far done well after being appointed as the national team manager. This has helped him earn a new contract that he signed only recently. The US is expected to make an impact at the World Cup, but Klinsmann is remaining tight-lipped about the chances of doing well at this major tournament. To add to the problem, the US have been given a very tough draw in the group stages where they will be playing the likes of Germany, Portugal, and Ghana. All teams are capable of aspiring for promotion and Klinsmann reckons that it will be difficult period for the national team.

Players like Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey have had successful careers in Europe, but it is simply not translating into the current crop of youngsters.

“There is no demand for USA players in Europe. It is just a sign of reality. The demand is not there. It is a very, very tricky situation that players face right now. You want them to play in the best clubs in best leagues in the world and obviously MLS is not there yet,” said Klinsmann, who became one of the best midfielders in the world during his time at Tottenham. He has been the national team manager of USA since 2011.

DRAW

Scotland were recently taking on United States in a friendly match, which sparked memories of the humiliating 5-1 suffered at the hands of the North Americans just over a year ago. Since then, Scotland brought in former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan to take charge of the team. The recent friendly match between the two teams finished as a credible 0-0 draw and this led to the praise from the US manager Jurgen Klinsmann about the good work done by Strachan. Scotland failed to qualify for the World Cup, but they will be involved in a few high-profile matches over the course of the next few months.

There will also be a strong favourites to qualify for the Euro 2016 if this form continues. Klinsmann said that the strong performance from Scotland is a testament to the work done by Strachan since taking over. This was a poor result for the US considering that they have the World Cup in a few months time. Klinsmann, though, has said that this performance is a message from Scotland that they are ready to fight for Euro 2016 qualification. Scotland are under pressure to qualify for the Euro 2016 after seeing nearby countries like the Republic of Ireland make it to the European ChampionshipsA in recent years.

“The team is committed, they are sharp, they are very compact, very difficult to play through and dangerous. Any moment, they can hurt you. So, therefore it was a different Scottish side. At the time that they came over [to the United States in 2012], the season was over, it was difficult for them to take that on a highest note. But you also can see the handwriting of Gordon Strachan. They are building towards the Euro 2016 qualifiers,” said the former Tottenham striker after the match.

DONOVAN INCLUDED

Landon Donovan has been finally included as part of the roster by manager Jurgen Klinsmann, as he attempts to guide the US national team into the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The US is actually in a very good position to qualify for the World Cup. They are currently top of their qualifying group with 13 points on board after having played six matches. This equals to a two-point advantage over second placed Costa Rica going into the crucial round of World Cup qualifying matches.

After the 4-3 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly match back in the middle of August, the US have now gone 12 matches without defeat. They will be hoping to extend this run when they take on their main rival for the World Cup qualifying a Costa Rica a on Saturday. Donovan was a major influence in the match against Germany back in June when the US managed a stunning 4-3 victory. One of the major news in the latest squad announced by Klinsmann is the presence of John Brooks, who at 20 years of age as the chance to establish himself permanently at international level.

Only recently, Brooks wanted to play for the German national team because he was eligible for both national teams. However, Klinsmann persuade him to join the US soccer team, and so far it is looking like a great move. Major omissions from the squad this time around are the likes of Joe Corona, Sacha Kljestan, JosA Torres, and Michael Parkhurst.

a?Yeah. Itas nice to see a lot of the faces and catch up with people I havenat seen in a while. Everybodyas been real supportive and welcoming. Itas just good to be back with these guys and Iam excited to play with them again,” said Donovan after being picked for the national team.

KLINSMANN SUSPENDED

The United States national team will be without manager Jurgen Klinsmann on the touchline after the German was suspended for the Gold Cup final. The United States will be taking on Panama in the final and this is a great opportunity for the nation to get a major trophy under the felt before the World Cup qualifying campaign resumes. Klinsmann, who has come in for criticism in recent months, has managed to get his team to the final of the competition. However, he will not be present in the touchline due to the suspension he received just minutes before the end of the semi-final against Honduras.

The United States were winning the match 3-1, but Klinsmann’s outburst against a decision by the referee resulted in him being sent off. The CONCACAF disciplinary committee has reviewed the incident and has given the former Bayern Munich player a one match suspension. Captain of the team, DaMarcus Beasley, though, has said that it does not change the outcome of the final. He has said that the team is extremely well prepared and is confident of winning the final. Honduras committed a series of hard fouls against America and the manager was extremely displeased with the officials.

a?I donat think it changes too much. Itas always good to have him on the bench, but heall give his wisdom before the game a make sure we get off on the right foot. But itas not going to be the same not seeing his face on the sideline, giving us instructions when we need it and being the enthusiastic person that he is on the bench. Especially, when we score or he needs to tell us something if we need to change something,a? said the US captain ahead of the match, which could be their fifth consecutive victory.

HOLDEN COULD FEATURE

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden could soon feature in the national team according to USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann. The midfielder last made a competitive appearance for the national team back in 2010. He suffered a broken leg while playing for the national team and he has been on the road to recovery since then. However, he could be back to full fitness and his best in the next couple of weeks according to Klinsmann. He has also praised the attitude of the player by saying that it is hugely responsible for his comeback.

Klinsmann has revealed that he plans to use Holden in the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup. There is a lot of pressure on Klinsmann to deliver results. The team is struggling to make it into the FIFA World Cup 2014. However, the return of Holden could be a massive boost, as he was one of the best players for United States at the FIFA World Cup 2010. He broke his leg after a challenge from Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong in a friendly match. Even though he recovered pretty quickly from the injury, subsequent challenges and complications have kept him out of the game for this period.

Now, though, he is fully fit and ready to make his comeback according to Klinsmann.

a?Weave been in touch with Stuart throughout this whole injury period. The last couple of months have given us a lot of positive signals. I spoke to his coach at Bolton, and spoke to his coach at Sheffield Wednesday where he played some very important minutes and games while on loan. Heas on his way back. That being said, we want to have him back in our picture. We are going to bring him for the May-June camp, and also for the Gold Cup,a? said Klinsmann.
