BT Sport pundits Glenn Hoddle and Martin Keown have heaped praise on Christian Pulisic’s displays for Chelsea this term. The USA international made an uncharacteristic beginning to his debut season with the Blues as he struggled for gametime and there were suggestions that he could be loaned back to Borussia Dortmund in January.

However, the 21-year-old has managed to answer the critics since the backend of October and in the past month, he has amassed six goals across all competitions. One of those came during the 2-2 Champions League draw against Valencia in midweek and shortly after the game, Hoddle heaped praise on Pulisic and compared his style of play with Blues hero Eden Hazard, he told: “It’s a great compliment to him [Pulisic], but he looks very like [Eden] Hazard in the way that he runs with the ball. Willian on the other side looks really very good. The two midfield players are impressive.”
Meanwhile, Keown was likewise impressed with the former Dortmund man and said that the youngster has the ability to make things happen with the ball at his feet, he quipped: “He [Pulisic] has been a revelation. I’ve been really impressed with him tonight. His intelligence… he makes something happen every time he gets it.”
Chelsea could not cement their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday but they are on the front foot and require a victory over Lille on the final matchday to progress. Meanwhile, the west London giants are comfortably placed in the league with a seven-point advantage over Wolverhampton Wanderers for the final Champions League spot and they will be hoping to continue the good form when West Ham United make the trip to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues saw a six-match league winning streak end with a defeat at Manchester City but they should be favourites to beat the Hammers, who have picked up just two points from the past seven league matches.
